Troubleshooting Guide
Why can’t I upload PNG even though this is a PNG converter page?
This page is for “converting other files into PNG,” so it only accepts JPG, WEBP, and BMP files. If you already have a PNG file and want to reduce its size, please use an image compression or resize tool instead.
Why does the converted PNG not display on some mobile devices?
The main reason is that the file may have very high resolution or complex transparency, which older devices do not support. Try opening it with another browser/viewer app, re-download the file, or resize pixels before converting again.
Why does my file have a .png extension but is not actually a PNG?
Files converted here are always 100% real PNG. If it doesn’t open, the issue is usually due to an incomplete download or unsupported image viewer. Try opening with another app or download it again.
Why does the PNG file size “not reduce” after conversion?
Because PNG is lossless, when converting from compressed formats like JPG/WEBP, the resulting file may be the same size or larger. If you need a smaller file, resize the pixels first or convert to WEBP instead.
Why does the converted PNG have a white background instead of transparency?
If the original file is JPG or BMP (which don’t support transparency), converting to PNG will still produce a solid background. To get transparent PNG, start with a file that already has alpha (e.g., transparent WEBP) or use a background remover tool.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is PNG better than JPG/WEBP?
PNG preserves full sharpness and detail (lossless) and supports transparency, making it ideal for logos, icons, and graphics. JPG/WEBP produce smaller file sizes, making them more suitable for photos.
Can I convert multiple PNG files at once?
Yes, you can select multiple files at the same time. After conversion, you can download each file individually or click “Download All (ZIP)” to get them all at once.
Why choose PNG for logos/screenshots instead of photos?
Because PNG works best with images containing lines, edges, or text, ensuring sharpness and transparency. Photos, however, contain continuous details, making PNG unnecessarily large. JPG/WEBP are better suited for photos.
What bit-depth PNG does this tool use?
The system converts to Truecolor 24-bit PNG with 8-bit alpha (32-bit total), supporting full colors and 256 levels of transparency, suitable for web and graphic use.
Can I use the converted PNG directly on websites?
Yes, all browsers support PNG. It’s perfect for logos, icons, and UI graphics. However, if the image is very large, it may slow down page load—consider resizing before use.
